What is the Process for Getting Veneers?

Over the years, impactful advances have been made in cosmetic dentistry; today quite a few treatment options are available to remedy pesky problems that mar your smile and chip away at your self-confidence.
Whether it’s tooth discoloration or flaws like chips and cracks, solutions exist that can turn the volume of your smile up to 11!
Dr. Ali Saeghi and the committed team at Modern Age Dentistry work with patients to find innovative solutions to smile challenges that, importantly, look fabulous.
One treatment we offer that addresses multiple problems is dental veneers — customized, wafer-thin, permanent coatings for your teeth that Dr. Saeghi can match precisely for a natural look.
What does getting veneers involve?
Our patients have embraced veneers because of their many benefits. But first, let’s look at what problems veneers can remedy:
- Badly discolored teeth
- Chipped, broken, or cracked teeth
- Misaligned teeth
- Gaps between teeth
- Misshapen teeth
- Protruding teeth
- Teeth that are uneven in size
- Worn teeth
With this extensive list of the smile challenges that veneers can eliminate, it’s easy to see why this cosmetic dentistry treatment is so popular.
When you come to Modern Age Dentistry’s comfortable, welcoming office for veneer treatment — and all of the services we offer, for that matter — we make sure you understand what’s going to happen and answer all of your questions and concerns.
Getting veneers requires several office visits. During your first visit, Dr. Saeghi gives you a complete oral evaluation, takes X-rays of your mouth, and makes impressions of your teeth.
At the visit during which your veneer treatment starts, Dr. Saeghi uses local anesthetic to numb the area or areas that surround the teeth where he’ll apply your veneers.
The next step is removing just a bit of the enamel from the teeth that are getting treated, which ensures that the veneers will adhere to your them very well. Then he creates another impression of your mouth, which is sent to a laboratory so your veneers can be crafted.
During your last visit to our office for veneer treatment, Dr. Saeghi takes great care to properly place your veneers. Before doing so, he ensures that the shape of your resin or porcelain veneers is exactly right, that they fit perfectly, and that the shade is ideal and indistinguishable from your natural teeth.
Once he’s satisfied with the placement, fit, and shade, Dr. Saeghi prepares your teeth being treated for the bonding process — the application of the adhesive and then attaching your veneer(s). He also uses a uniquely designed light that cures the cement he uses, which hastens the bonding process.
Once this step is complete, Dr. Saeghi removes any surplus cement and checks yet again to make sure that the fit, shape, and allover placement of your veneers is on target and that your bite is comfortable.
Incredible results with veneers
Because veneers reflect the light in the same way as your natural teeth, your secret to your now-flawless smile is safe! People may notice you look brighter and refreshed but not know why. This is what you want, since it means that your veneers are absolutely natural looking!

If your teeth and gums are in good shape, you take good care of them, and your teeth aren’t worn down from grinding, you’re a good candidate for veneers. Dr. Saeghi also makes sure you have a sufficient amount of enamel on your teeth before advising you to go this route.
An easy, comfortable, and successful treatment that erases diverse smile flaws for good? Yes, please!
