All-on-4 Dental Implants Q&A

What is All-on-4?

All-on-4 is a system that combines dentures and dental implants to replace an entire arch of teeth. With the All-on-4 system, you have four dental implants — metal posts that support replacement teeth — in your bottom or top mouth arch.

Usually, two implants go in the front part of your arch, and the other two are positioned in the molar area. The dental implants hold a permanent denture in place, which gives you a complete arch of teeth.

What are the advantages of All-on-4?

All-on-4 offers many advantages, including:

Permanency

All-on-4 is a permanent (implant-retained) denture. While ordinary dentures are removable, the All-on-4 dental implants hold full arch dentures in place permanently so you will never need to take them out.

Function

All-on-4 gives you prosthetic teeth that work like regular teeth. You can chew without worry because your implants securely hold your replacement teeth in place.

Appearance

Modern Age Dentistry produces All-on-4 replacement teeth using advanced digital imaging and CAD/CAM technology. Because your specialists have a 3D blueprint of your mouth, they can create the most natural-looking and aesthetically pleasing replacement teeth possible.

Cost

A full mouth of dental implants is more expensive than dentures. All-on-4 gives you an in-between option. It’s still affordable since you only need four implants in each arch.

What is recovery after the All-on-4 procedure like?

After your All-on-4 procedure, you can expect to feel back to normal in only a few days. Be sure to follow your discharge instructions closely. That means eating a soft diet initially as you grow accustomed to your new teeth.

Anti-inflammatories and external ice packs can minimize any discomfort or pain you may experience.
