What is All-On-4 and Why Is It So Popular?

Since dental implants took the world of dentistry by storm in the last few decades, they’ve become so popular with patients and dentists alike that currently, patients receive about 2.5 million implants per year. Some people receive a single implant, while others get more.

Dental implants are replacements for the roots of your teeth and are widely recognized as a superior solution for missing teeth, a problem that plagues Americans. In the United States alone, over 150 million people are missing at least one tooth. This isn’t good, since gaps in your mouth can cause a host of problems

An implant is a tiny metal post that holds a restoration, like a crown or dentures.

One dental implant option that’s widely popular is known as All-On-4 implants, which blends implants and dentures to replace a full top or bottom arch of teeth.

Dr. Ali Saeghi and the attentive team at Modern Age Dentistry offer traditional dental implants and All-On-4 procedures and are dedicated to offering education about All-On-4 implants. If, after evaluating you, Dr. Saeghi believes you’re a candidate for All-On-4, it could be the ideal solution for replacing your missing teeth.

The dangers of gaps in the mouth

We mentioned how common missing teeth are, but they pose multiple problems for patients, including:

There’s no question that missing teeth negatively affect your quality of life. The difficulties and complications intensify when you’ve lost multiple teeth.

How All-On-4 can help

With a traditional implant, Dr. Saeghi uses titanium posts (root implants) and places them in the bone sockets of your missing teeth. Over about 4-8 weeks, your jaw heals and envelops the root implant. After healing is complete, Dr. Saeghi connects a very small post, an abutment, to the root implant. This is what holds your permanent dentures in place.

When Dr. Saeghi places All-On-4 implants, two are positioned in the front portion of your arch, while the other two are placed where your molars are. Your dentures are attached to the abutments on the implants. All-On-4 allows you to get a brand new arch of teeth at one time.

Your new teeth fit precisely because Dr. Saeghi makes a model of your bite that guides the creation of your new teeth.

Patients have enthusiastically embraced All-On-4 implants because of their many benefits:

All-on-4 aftercare requires eating soft foods for a time after your procedure, and anti-inflammatories and ice packs soothe any post-procedure pain and tenderness.

It’s easy to see why All-On-4 is an in-demand treatment, and we’re here to offer you the smoothest procedure possible. We’re confident that you’ll be 100% delighted with the comfortable, dazzling results.
